Alvin M. Fritscher, 75, of Murfreesboro passed away February 10, 2010 at the Alive Hospice Residence.
Mr. Fritscher was born in New Orleans, LA to the late Joseph Robert Fritscher Sr. and Lucy Solito Fritscher.
He served in the United States Marine Corps and was a veteran of the Korean War. After his Honorable discharge he became a self-employed general contractor who was very honest and ha extremely strong work ethic. These qualities, along with his religious beliefs, are reflected in the many magnificent quality homes he built in the New Orleans and Middle Tennessee areas. He also instilled these same qualities and beliefs in numerous people whose lives he touched along the way.
Most important in his life was his love of God and his family. He is survived by his wife Jeannette Thibodaux Fritscher of Murfreesboro; son Alvin Fritscher Jr. of Murfreesboro; daughters, LaVerne Reed of St. Petersburg, FL; Louis Bennett of Lake Mary, FL; Susan Hall of Murfreesboro; Victoria Daniels of Murfreesboro; Opal Fritscher of Nashville; Lucy Neal of Nashville; brothers, Joseph Robert Fritscher Jr. of Metairie, LA; Marion Fritscher of Metairie, LA and Michael Fritscher of Kenner, LA; 22 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.
Visitation with the family will be Tuesday, February 16, 2010 from 8:00am until the funeral service at 11:30 am at Murfreesboro Funeral Home with Bro. Daryl Whaley and Bro. Arthur Lewis officiating. Graveside service will be at 2:00pm at Middle Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery with Military Honors.
In lieu of flowers family ask for donations be made in Alvin Fritscher’s honor to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
