Linebaugh will host local author Alberta Tolbert on Tuesday, January 10, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tolbert will sell and sign copies of her book, "Poppa's War," published this past April by Wandering in the Words Press.
Tolbert was born and raised in rural Minnesota, the setting of her novel. The book is a coming-of-age story of the struggles of an eleven year old girl in post WWII.
Tolbert earned a BA in history from the University of Minnesota and took two years of post-graduate classes at the University of Wisconsin--Milwaukee. Her writing began in 1952 with a poem entitled "Let Us not Forget," which was in tribute to her uncle, who served in Korea. In the years since, Tolbert has lived in six states, and her writings explore the connection between place and the people who reside there.
The author will sell copies of her book for $11, cash and credit accepted.
