| Alaska extridition suspect had sex with '150 minors' |

A suspect accused of having sexual contact with minors more than 150 times and getting at least three minors pregnant was extradited from Alaska to Rutherford County Friday by Sheriff Robert Arnold and Capt. Jason Mathis.
Suspect Aarronn Arms, 22, of Anchorage, was indicted on 24 counts of rape and statutory rape in January by the Rutherford County Grand jury.
Murfreesboro Detective Tommy Roberts reported he began an investigation after a referral to the Department of Children’s Services. Roberts brought a 14-year old pregnant victim to the Murfreesboro Police Department for questioning.
She revealed Arms was also having a relationship with her sister, who was a minor.
Upon further investigation, Roberts discovered that two other girls, aged 13-15 were pregnant by Arms.
“He (Arms) admitted having sex with minor girls approximately 150 times,” Roberts reported.
Roberts presented his case to the grand jury whose members indicted Arms, who moved to his native state of Alaska.
Arnold said Arms fought extradition to Tennessee. District Attorney William Whitesell asked Gov. Bill Haslam to issue a governor’s warrant to extradite Arms to Tennessee. The warrants were approved by both Haslam and Alaska Gov. Sean Parnell with a short time to extradite.
The sheriff was scheduled to attend a class that canceled last week so he and Mathis picked up Arms and returned him to Rutherford County to face the charges.
“He (Arms) committed crimes on the citizens of Rutherford County and tried to hide from law enforcement,” Arnold said. “Due to the severity of the crime committed, it was our obligation to go get him.”
Arms left his 20-year-old wife in Alaska.
He was booked into Rutherford County Adult Detention Center where he is being held on $200,000 bond. Arms is scheduled to receive copies of his indictments next Monday from Circuit Court.
Roberts charged another suspect with 24 counts of failure to report statutory rape of one of the girls. |
