Agri-Park to hold open house Sunday

An “Open House” is scheduled for the newly constructed Community Center and Livestock Barn at the Lane Agri-Park located at 315 John R. Rice Blvd. in Murfreesboro.

The event will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, June 7. Everyone is encouraged to attend and learn about the facilities and its proposed use.

The Community Center is a 16,500 sq. ft. multi-purpose facility that will be used for various programs designed to meet the educational, cultural, social, and recreational needs of county residents.

UT-TSU Extension of Rutherford County will utilize the facility for various educational programs as well as a Farmer’s Market operation. Other county departments will be able to use the facility for business meetings, and it will be available to the general public for events such as weddings, wedding receptions, family reunions, anniversary gatherings and birthday parties.

The Livestock Barn is a 22,500 sq. ft. facility that will be used for livestock activities such as shows, judging team training, and project group meetings for 4-H’ers who participate in beef, dairy, sheep, goat, poultry and other livestock projects.

Agricultural agents will use the facility for field day and demonstration activities for livestock producers, and the facility will be available for livestock shows, auctions and other activities scheduled by livestock organizations or the general public.
