Adult arrested, juveniles wanted in attempted homicide at College Grove

One adult has been arrested in the June 4 shooting at College Grove Apartments, and authorities are searching for two juveniles over the age of 14 in connection with the crime.

When officers arrived at 1540 New Lascassas Highway just after 7 p.m. Sunday, they found Marcellous Davis in the parking lot with a gunshot wound to the face. He was taken to Vanderbilt hospital in an ambulance. The crime is being investigated as an attempted homicide.

Devonta Cortez Cason, 22, was arrested and has been booked at the Rutherford County Sheriff's Office. Detectives with MPD's Violent Crimes Unit obtained attempted first degree homicide warrants for the two minors as well. According to Murfreesboro Police Department, officers and detectives are actively searching for them.

State law prohibits law enforcement from identifying the juveniles.
