It is the only statewide quality program and is patterned on the Baldrige Performance Excellence Program, the national standard for recognizing organizational excellence.

AdamsPlace Independent Living accepted the award at the 20th annual Excellence in Tennessee Awards banquet, held Feb. 20.

“It is an honor for AdamsPlace to be recognized as part of this prestigious organization,” said Adam Coggin, director of AdamsPlace. “As we strive to provide a remarkable living experience for our residents, the Center for Performance Excellence has provided another vehicle to us help achieve organizational excellence.”

AdamsPlace is a retirement community that is designed to provide an elegant residential living environment that is clean, safe and inviting.

Through an annual evaluation and assessment process, the center recognizes high-performance organizations that exhibit continuous improvement and best practice processes.

This year, the organization has named 44 companies as 2012 award winners. They represent outstanding industry achievement in the health care, manufacturing, service, education, government and nonprofit sectors.
