And the mid-state may be in for another winter storm.
The National Weather Service in Nashville issued a Winter Storm Watch, which is in effect from Wednesday morning through late Wednesday night.
A significant ice storm is possible, which is expected to begin as light snow and freezing rain Wednesday morning.
Precipitation will gradually switch over to freezing rain during the afternoon with light rain starting to mix in late Wednesday night.
Snow accumulation of one half to one inch will occur east of Nashville, especially along the Cumberland Plateau.
Meanwhile, total ice accumulations up to and even exceeding one-quarter of an inch can be expected across the watch area through Wednesday night with the greatest amounts of ice occurring in areas nearest the Kentucky Stateline.
Ice accumulations of these amounts will create havoc on roadways and add tremendous weight to trees and power lines with the possibility of power and telephone outages.
