The United Way of Rutherford and Cannon Counties has partnered with the MTSU Lady Raiders Basketball team and Toot’s Restaurant to present the second-annual 3 Point Play event on March 1, 2011, from 6:30 PM – 7:30 PM at the Toot’s location at 860 NW Broad Street. The 3 Point Play, which is a meet and greet with the women’s basketball team prior to their Sun Belt tournament appearance, will include a silent auction to benefit United Way’s 44 non-profit agencies. The team will also be available for photos and autographs. The items are currently on display and available for bidding at the Broad Street Toot’s location. Auction items include: a football signed by MTSU Head Football Coach Rick Stockstill, a scholarship to the 2011 Rick Stockstill football camp, a basketball signed by MTSU Men’s Head Basketball Coach Kermit Davis, a scholarship to the 2011 Kermit Davis men’s basketball camp, a baseball signed by MTSU Head Baseball Coach Steve Peterson with a T-shirt and hat, a scholarship to the 2011 Steve Peterson baseball camp, a signed basketball by MTSU Women’s Head Basketball Coach Rick Insell, a scholarship to the 2011 Rick Insell women’s basketball camp, a two-hour golf lesson for up to two people with MTSU Men’s Head Golf Coach Whit Turnbow and a gift of a dozen golf balls, and a hand-made wooden MTSU checkerboard. The bidding will close at the conclusion of the 3 Point Play event on March 1st. The inaugural 2010 3 Point Play raised nearly $2,000 for United Way.
