The Blue Raider tennis teams are gearing up for the 2011 fall season and will kick the year off with the 25th annual Wally Tidwell Pro-Am Sept. 9-10 at the Buck Bouldin Tennis Center.
“Between the 25th annual Pro-Am, the university’s centennial celebration and a great football game between the Blue Raiders and Georgia Tech, it’s going to be an outstanding weekend,” head coach Jimmy Borendame said. “We’re excited to have some of our former greats returning to campus, and it’s always enjoyable event for our alumni, tennis enthusiasts and Blue Raider fans.”
On Friday evening, the participants will gather for appetizers at the Blue Raider Hall of Fame and have the opportunity to hit around at the tennis center. The Pro-Am begins Saturday at 8:30 a.m. for women and 11 a.m. for men. The festivities continue following the Pro-Am with a tailgate for the Middle Tennessee-Georgia Tech football game, which is slated for a 6 p.m. kickoff.
Cost is $150 and includes two tickets to the football game in addition to all other activities in conjunction with the Pro-Am. Parking for the event is available at the corner of Division Street and Fairview Avenue.
