Multiple charges were filed Wednesday against a Murfreesboro man accused of sexually soliciting a 14-year-old girl online for several months, a Rutherford County Sheriff’s detective said Thursday. Defendant Alexis Alicea Nieves, 23, of Bradyville Pike in Murfreesboro, was charged with six counts of soliciting a minor, six counts of soliciting a minor to observe sexual conduct, six counts of providing obscene material to minors and two counts of soliciting a minor to commit especially aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor, said arresting Detective Lisa Svitak. “He’s courting other minors online from Riverdale, Oakland and La Vergne that I know of,” Svitak said. Nieves apparently met the girls and obtained their telephone numbers while he worked at a kiosk at Stones River Mall, the detective said. He apparently visited the 14-year-old girl in November at her Rutherford County home, prompting her parents to order him not to return to their home. They filed a complaint with the sheriff’s office. “He was grooming this one,” Svitak said. Nieves allegedly used social networking sites to communicate with the girl and provided obscene material, the detective said. He was accused of sending messages ranging from angry and aggressive comments to “I love you.” “That concerned me,” Svitak said.
Svitak and other detectives executed a search warrant Wednesday at Nieves’ home where they obtained evidence. He gave a statement to Svitak.
Nieves was booked into Rutherford County Adult Detention Center where he is being held on $60,000 bond. A hearing is set March 8 in General Sessions Court. Parents who believe their daughters may have contact with Nieves are asked to call Svitak at 904-3056. |
