Felon charged with sex offenses
Felony sex charges were filed against a convicted felon accused of trying to solicit a minor, a sheriff's detective said. Suspect Jeffrey M. Kenny, 35, of Blountville was charged last week with three counts each of solicitation of a minor and solicitation of a minor to observe sexual contact. Kenny was accused of trying to solicit a minor online after an investigation of almost four months, the detective said.

Lady Warriors advance to region finals
Riverdale started postseason play with an outline of what it would take to win a state title. The Lady Warriors needed 10 wins to get a state title, and they're halfway to their goal. Sparked by 24 points from MTSU signee Anne Marie Lanning and 14 from Alex Bivens, Riverdale hammered Lawrence County 65-42 Monday at Siegel High School in the Region 4-AAA Tournament semifinals.

Complaints from neighbors resulted in a store clerk's arrest on charges of selling marijuana Friday from inside Kountry Korner market on Old Nashville Highway, a sheriff's lieutenant said.
