‘Storytellers’ July episode features City Mayor Shane McFarland

The July 2014 episode of “Murfreesboro Storytellers,” a 30-minute interview program hosted by John Hood, is slated to begin airing Monday, July 7, at 7:30 p.m. on CityTV. The July episode features new Murfreesboro Mayor Shane McFarland.

McFarland, who turns 40 in August, is a small business owner who graduated from MTSU in 1997 with a degree in accounting. McFarland won election in April to a 4-year term to serve as Murfreesboro Mayor. The July program, recorded in the Murfreesboro City Council chambers in City Hall on 111 W. Vine St. in Murfreesboro, Tenn., is produced by CityTV’s Michael Nevills.

The interview features a discussion with Murfreesboro’s Mayor on the following topics:

• Road projects, including the interchange at Broad and Memorial Boulevard.
• The planned indoor tennis complex at Old Fort Park slated to open in early 2015.
• Construction of the bridge on Joe B. Jackson Parkway.
• A planned new Murfreesboro Police Headquarters on Highland Avenue scheduled for completion in 2017.
