Murfreesboro Little Theatre proudly presents "Guys and Dolls Junior," opening July 21 for two weekends.
Based on the writings of Damon Runyon and set in New York City, "Guys and Dolls" ran for more than 1,200 performances when it opened on Broadway in 1950, and won the Tony for Best Musical.
The show follows the adventures of gamblers Nathan Detroit and smooth-talking Sky Masterson, Nathan's long-time fiancé and Hot-Box performer Adelaide; and Salvation Army leader Sarah Brown who want the gang to "follow the fold and stray no more."
The gang, however, is a bunch of small-time gamblers and chorus girls who have their own ideas when it comes to live and let live. This Broadway classic has been trimmed to one hour, and features performers between the ages of 13 and 18.
Included in the cast are Micah May as Sky Masterson, Jack Jones as Nathan Detroit, Belinda Laureano as Sarah Brown and Diana Mosely as Adelaide. The cast also features Corinna Lingle, Malcolm Bryant, Neil Talbort, Olivia Hollandsworth, Rebecca Hawkins, Jaylin Witherspoon, Andrew Neal, Rachel Hortert, Kapone Kilpatick, Cam Curtis, Abby Jackson, Emma Hawkins, Hattie Fann and Joyce Hansen.
"Guys and Dolls Junior" plays July 21-23 and 28-30, with Friday and Saturday performances at 7 p.m. and Sunday performances at 2 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults, $7 for seniors and students and $5 for MLT members.
