‘Drug Take Back’ and ‘Gun Buy Back’ successful

The Murfreesboro Police Department had a very successful combined “Drug Take Back” and “Gun Buy Back” special event n Saturday, April 26.

The MPD took back a total of one 148 pounds of various types of unwanted and/or expired drugs from citizens. All of the drugs were picked up by the Drug Enforcement Administration (D.E.A.) to be properly disposed.

The other partners in the “drug take back” event were the Drug Enforcement Administration (D.E.A.), Community Anti-Drug Coalition of Rutherford County (CADCOR), and St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital.

Also, a total of six firearms were surrendered in the “Gun Buy Back” program. They consisted of the following one rifle, one shotgun, two semi-automatic pistols and two revolvers.
